Christmas Thoughts From an Enyimba Heart

Good morning Enyimba Lovers.

This week, my relationship with Enyimba took a turn I did not quite expect. A proper swerve. And the credit or blame depending on how you look at it goes to Solace Chukwu’s book, which I picked up on Sunday and finished yesterday morning. It should have been quicker, but with other things clamouring for attention, it extended a day. Still, I can say without hesitation that the book changed something in me.

I will need a full blog post to properly unpack what I learned from it and just how transformative it was. But even without going too deep, getting to the final page gave me a clearer understanding of why we are where we are today as a club. It also forced me to confront a hard truth. Going forward, my expectations of Enyimba will need to be far more measured. Not because we should not dream, but because understanding history helps you manage hope.

Which brings me to the obvious question. Why have you not gotten the book yet? We even offered here on the blog to cover fifty percent of the cost for a select number of people. An offer that still stands. What are you waiting for? Reach out to us and let us make it happen. This is not just a book. For an Enyimba fan, it is almost an identity card. You cannot claim this club properly without it. It is that serious.

On another note, today is the 24th. Christmas Day is tomorrow. A lot of people have said it does not feel Christmassy this year. I understand that feeling. Truly. But in the end, that does not matter much. What matters is finding joy in the true essence of the season. Gratitude. Love. Family.

Maybe this year did not go as planned. For me, 2025 goes down as one of the toughest years of my life. No exaggeration. But I am ending it full of thanksgiving. Life itself is the gift God has graciously given me, and that alone tells me He is not done with me yet.

So celebrate with cheer in your heart. Laugh at the troubles, confident that better and brighter days lie ahead. Whatever you can afford this season, celebrate with your loved ones and hold on to hope that it gets better.

In the same spirit, I hope our players are doing alright as well. Hopefully Kanu, Ekwueme and the rest of the leadership have made funds available for Christmas bonuses and support. If God grants us more Christmases, one of these years ThatEnyimbaFan will host the entire team for a Christmas dinner. Food, drinks and cheers allowed in the middle of a season.

From all of us here at ThatEnyimbaFan, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Beautiful New Year.

Back tomorrow.
