Unveiling the New-Look Enyimba Class of 2025/26

Good Day, True Blues!

September is here—the first of the dreaded “ember” months. It’s that stretch of the calendar when the world seems to go into overdrive, as if the first eight months never existed and everyone is suddenly racing the clock. Personally, I don’t subscribe to that panic. If you’re only starting to run now, maybe it’s because you strolled through the first two trimesters. But enough philosophy—let’s get into Enyimba matters.

August gave us reasons to smile. An unbeaten run—yes, just two matches, but still—anchored by two clean sheets. That’s the kind of platform you want when building momentum. Four points out of a possible six keeps us in the early conversation and with another home game ahead, the opportunity to strengthen our push for the crown is right in front of us.

Last weekend’s game? Not the most convincing, sure, but given the number of fresh faces we’ve brought in, patience is only fair. Teams don’t knit together overnight. The gaffer asked for time, and he’s right. The NPFL is a marathon. A steady start, followed by consistent performances, will keep us in the race when the season gets tight.

And speaking of fresh faces, Sunday felt like a mini-unveiling ceremony. Here’s the roll call of our new warriors:

Ifeanyi Okechukwu – Midfielder (Niger Tornadoes)

Kingsley Maduforo – Attacker (Rangers)

Joseph Abiodun – Midfielder (Kun Khalifat FC)

Stanley Dimgba – Winger (Abia Warriors)

Chidera Michael – Attacker (Ozalla FC)

Christian Molokwu – Defender (Heartland)

Alos Danbani – Attacker (Lobi Stars)

John Bassey – Attacker (Heartland)

Kevin Ogunga – Goalkeeper (Heartland)

Mohammed Husseni – Defender (Niger Tornadoes)

Dede Dare – Goalkeeper (Free Agent)

Augustine Nwaorisa – Attacker (Edel FC)

Edidiong Ezekiel – Attacker (Remo Stars)

Bright Amadi – Midfielder (Kano Pillars)

Joel Ezdra – Defender (KMK FC Uyo)

Chukwuemeka Nwokeji – Left-back (Remo Stars)

Fabian Nworie – Defender (Remo Stars)

Promise Anyanwu – Attacker (Heartland)

Chinedu Anozie – Goalkeeper (3SC)

That’s 19 new signings—just three shy of the players we released after last season. Add one more and we could almost field a full matchday squad of new recruits! There’s a cute video here as well.

But beyond the numbers lies the real story. These players aren’t just here to fill shirts. Wearing the Enyimba badge is responsibility, privilege, and a call to higher standards. As our stand-in captain reminded everyone recently, “Enyimba is the biggest team in West Africa.” That truth alone should inspire our new boys to dig deep. And when they give their all, they’ll find us—their fans—right behind them, every step of the way.

Optimism remains our compass. As long as the People’s Elephants march with heart, discipline, and focus, our faith will not be misplaced. Amen?

Back tomorrow.
