Good morning Everyone.
Our pre-season begins to take shape as we kickoff the Eko International Cup. It would really be nice to watch the team again and even more fascinating to see what Enyimba shows up. The games will be streamed on YouTube. As you know there has been alot of talk about who has left and who is remaining. Fun times.
Speaking of exits, there has indeed been alot. Yesterday someone shared me a post from one of the National Dailies of one of our remaining goalkeepers exiting the club. Apparently, Ani has left and Asibe is injured. That leaves Zalli Abdullahi as the one in question.
The post said his contract ended at the end of the season. How the club thought not to renew his contract is talk for another day. Maybe they didn’t think he was good enough and felt it was better his time at Enyimba gets ended that way.
Considering that the other two goalkeepers are unavailable/going/gone, this decision is difficult to grasp. It is one thing to consistently sign players who aren’t good enough, and another to let contracts just expire. In Zalli’s case, ill like to know his thinking on it.
The other piece of news was that Joseph Atule was in contract renewal talks with Enyimba. I’ll share quotes attributed to the player.
“I have a good relationship with the Club board, Management and players. Talks are still on and there has been progress over a new deal with the Club.” Atule was quoted by Beyond Limit Sport.
Considering the tone and source of this post, I will be surprised if this plays out. I love Atule. I want him at Enyimba for much longer except of course he gets a deal that takes him out of the country. Same with Clinton about whom we havent heard alot of lately.
I have a burning passion for Enyimba to be a model football club. Best facilities. Best Coaching Crew. Best Players. Best Results. Best in player welfare. These are the cogitations of my heart. This is why I quickly and readily point out areas where we need improvements as they come to light.
It is also why I am disgusted by people who have no such passion and they come out to claim that they know what they are doing. It’s no bother that you came into an office clueless: what is a problem is doing nothing to improve your knowledge and the results you produce.
I hope we begin to see massive improvements at this football club going forward. It is indeed the least we deserve.
Back tomorrow

Letting Zalli go when both Ani and Asibe are out really puts us in a tricky spot heading into the Eko International Cup. It raises questions about the club’s planning, especially with pre-season matches around the corner. Hopefully, there’s a backup plan in place we just haven’t heard about yet.
