Hello all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is another midweek but a quiet one as we go into the international break. Last weekend, the 0-0 result against Remo Stars was not what Enyimba faithfulS had hoped for, but it happens in football as there are only three outcomes – win, draw or lose. I am sure when you take a close look at the results from the last matchweek in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), it had surprises written all over and I am sure it would have taken someone with some kind of innate supernatural powers to see the future to call those results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For instance, Rivers United now managed by former Enyimba head coach, Finidi George, surprisingly lost at home to a struggling Bayelsa United side, making it back-to-back defeats\u2014to sides in relegation positions\u2014for them after a nine-game unbeaten run. Then you have the new boys, Ikorodu City, going from a side with no wins in their first five league matches to sewing up four wins in six, including winning at Katsina United last matchday (W4 D1 L1). That L was from us, tho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now this trajectory in the NPFL speaks volume of how unpredictable this season in turning out to be. This is the reason, Every Enyimba faithful has to trust the process as I remember how oriental rivals, Rangers International, came out of the blues to win the title last season when they were not even in the reckoning from the onset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No doubting it, Enyimba like every organisation has its own ethos. This definitely guides such organisations in their activities and dealings with their immediate publics as PR experts would often say. When any player pulls on the blue colours of the People\u2019s Elephant it is expected that the \u2018Enyimba Enyi\u2019 spirit takes over and motivates them to give 100 per cent performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The People\u2019s Elephant can draw inspiration from their performance this season compared to the last because after their first 11 matches last term, they had already lost four times including that 1-0 at home to Remo Stars (W6 D1 L4). This season, it is just two defeats (W5 D4 L2). However, Coach Yemi \u2018Yema\u2019 Olanrewaju and his team have matched the same number of points at this same stage last season. So, there is need to trust the process. Enyimba are not far off the leaders, who are three points ahead and there are still a whooping 27 matchweeks more to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before I wrap this up, I noticed Alalibo Somiari has not been in the squad in the past two matchweeks and I did a little check. Well, I understand the Enyimba captain went back home due to personal reasons. Hopefully, he’ll return to the side soon. A return which would spark a run of impressive results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
