Another away game, another pleasant result. We start the week with another precious point in our coffers. The boys battled and earned a draw against Shooting Stars Sunday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here are 4 things we learned as the Elephant proved too tough for the Oluwoye Warriors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. Still Unbeaten Against Shooting Stars:<\/strong> For all their history and regional clout, Shooting Stars isnt showing that they are more than just another big fish in a small pond. We, on the other hand, transcend these \u201cvillage champion\u201d labels. Taking a point off them? That\u2019s us being respectful\u2014because the goal was to take all three!<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Yema outwits the Oracle<\/strong>: Without key players like Daniel Daga, Clinton Jephtha, and with Eze Ekwutoziem coming off the bench, Yema played it smart\u2014get what we could and walk away with something. And you can say, this is Mission accomplished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3. Our “No. 1” Keeper? Doesn\u2019t Seem to Matter<\/strong>! The competition between the two is keeping them sharp, and it\u2019s working wonders. Neither has slacked off, and if this friendly rivalry continues, we\u2019re in safe hands\u2014literally. Just don\u2019t nap on us in any crucial games, guys!<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4. It\u2019s Shaping Up to Be One of Those Seasons:<\/strong> Yesterday\u2019s point could be the difference-maker later on. If we keep flexing our muscle and maintaining a fortress at home, we\u2019ll be right back where we belong\u2014at the top. With a deep squad and some smart rotation, this season could be the one. La Decima, anyone? We\u2019re Enyimba, after all\u2014like Oliver Twist, we\u2019re always hungry for more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So, there you have it. I hope I\u2019ve convinced you that this point from Adamasingba is worth treasuring. Let\u2019s start with the obvious\u2014we\u2019ve yet to lose to Shooting Stars in 2024. In fact, they haven\u2019t even managed to breach our defense once. Yes, we haven’t scored against them either, but that\u2019s a minor detail. They should count their blessings we didn\u2019t give them a three-peat this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If Ogunbote isn\u2019t calling for a backroom staff meeting this morning to figure out what went wrong, I\u2019ll be surprised. They hit the crossbar, tested Ani Ozoemena more times than they can count, and threw everything at us, yet still came away empty-handed. Why? Because Yema had a plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ani Ozoemena had a standout performance yesterday, outshining everyone who touched the grass at Lekan Salami Stadium. But let\u2019s not forget, we started the season with him, switched to Nathaniel Asibe, then came back to Ani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
