There was something fitting about the mood in Aba as Enyimba stepped out for the Abia State FA Cup final. The memory of last season\u2019s painful defeat to Ahudiyannem on penalties still lingered, and this felt like the perfect chance to settle the score. It was not just about lifting a trophy. It was about response. It was about pride. And by the end of the afternoon, the People\u2019s Elephant had done exactly what was needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the opening exchanges, Enyimba looked like the side with greater purpose. There was sharpness in the movement, confidence in possession, and a visible hunger to make a statement early. That statement came in the 20th minute when Wonah Williams continued his remarkable scoring run with a superb strike from outside the box. In the 55th minute, he grabbed his second of the day with a composed finish that reflected the confidence currently flowing through his game. At that point, the final began to tilt heavily in Enyimba\u2019s favour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The substitutions added fresh energy and kept the pressure on. Samuel Okechukwu and Salmon Abubakar came on, and Enyimba continued to stretch Ahudiyannem. The third goal arrived in the 72nd minute after Okechukwu was brought down inside the box. He stepped up himself and calmly converted the penalty to put the result beyond serious doubt. By then, Enyimba were cruising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joel added the fourth in the 88th minute with a neat finish, giving the scoreline the authority the performance deserved. By full time, it was 4-0, a complete reversal of the heartbreak of last season\u2019s final and a satisfying way to reclaim the state crown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than the trophy itself, this was a reminder of what Enyimba can still look like when confidence, purpose, and execution come together. The team played with authority, took its chances well, and showed the kind of attacking edge fans have been craving. Wonah Williams will rightly take the headlines, but this was also a solid collective display, one built on focus, intensity, and a clear desire to finish the job properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
