Does anyone realize that Enyimba played a game last weekend and of course lost? I was going through the matchday results wondering who and when Enyimba was playing. Lol and behold, we played on Saturday away at Bendel Insurance and we got beat 2:0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am not about to beat this team for losing an away game. I might beat another Enyimba team for that, but clearly not this one. Not a team with two Technical Advisers. Not a team with two Sporting Directors. And certainly not a team that boycotted training all week over unpaid match bonuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This power tussle at Enyimba is coming at the worst possible time. This is the business end of the season. This is when mid table and bottom teams start scrambling for points like their lives depend on it. Unity becomes non negotiable because without it, not only is winning away games impossible, even winning at home stops being guaranteed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is the reason I am squaring up against the power grabbers at the club. Every decision has consequences. And for the madness we are putting up right now, we will pay for it sooner than we realize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For starters, if we survive relegation and that is a hefty if, we should expect a massive exodus at the end of the season. This squad is not the most talented, but if we start losing bodies again, replacing them will be 2025 2026 all over again. Panic recruitment. Random signings. Another season spent trying to gel a team that should have been properly built in the first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And who exactly will lead recruitment when the window opens. The government appointed Sporting Director or Kanu\u2019s buddy Uche Okechukwu, who has been hovering around the club for months now, shadowing Ifeanyi Ekwueme until he exited a fortnight ago. In a normal club, that question would have an obvious answer. In Enyimba, it is now a coin toss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For any establishment to make progress, there must be unity of purpose. Everyone has to be pulling in the same direction. Right now, too many people are pulling at the badge for reasons that have nothing to do with the growth of the club. And that is where every Enyimba fan should be worried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I saw a video interview from the Commissioner last weekend at the Abia Warriors vs Rangers game. When asked about the ongoing fracas at Enyimba, he said nobody should be worried and everything was under control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hello sir, it is difficult for us not to worry when these are the signs we are presented with daily. It is difficult to see these results, this confusion, this unpaid bonuses saga, and not worry about Enyimba dropping to the NNL. I know nobody in the country believes Enyimba could get relegated, but history has taught us that even the biggest empires crumble when the people in charge start fighting over the crown while the walls are already burning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am an Aba boy that loves Enyimba, and I have a voice. This blog. It is my influence, and I will use it. If we truly care about this club, we cannot keep pretending this is normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
