The League continues today with our first home game of the second half of the season, and the visitors are Barau FC. They made sure everyone knew they were flying in from Kano, but in Aba, altitude means nothing without attitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We actually started the season against Barau, and despite finishing that game with nine men, we still managed to pick up our first points. That match summed up our early-season reality perfectly: a red card, an injury, and a bench that consisted of just two players. We have really been in the trenches this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, however, presents a chance for something different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are coming off a midweek pummeling in Ibadan, a 3\u20130 loss that bruised both pride and morale. The quickest way to flush that result out of the system is simple: make a statement in front of the Aba faithful. Nothing heals like a convincing home performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Still, it is difficult to set realistic targets midway through the season, especially when most of the damage \u2014 poor recruitment, unstable results, and questionable decisions \u2014 was done under the previous technical setup. The new direction is still finding its footing, and patience, whether we like it or not, remains part of the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What makes it harder to swallow is looking up the table and seeing Abia Warriors sitting above us. Our neighbours have not only overtaken us as the top team in the state, they have also proven it is no fluke and that should sting. Once again, shame to the ignoramuses running this club into avoidable cycles of regression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
