What do you do when the odds are stacked against you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s a position no one ever prays to be in. It\u2019s uncomfortable and also a state of heightened tension powered by uncertainty and a pinch of confusion. It knocks you off balance, clouds your thinking, and if care isn\u2019t taken, it can slide into despair, maybe even a hint of depression. But there\u2019s always one thing that steadies the ship in such storms and that is hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hope is courage dressed in quiet strength. It looks fear, doubt, and challenges squarely in the eye and still finds enough will to take the next step. Hope is the spark that says, \u201cTry again,\u201d even after the umpteenth failure. It brightens the tunnel and reminds you that the light at the end isn\u2019t a myth. Hope sustains action when everything else feels like it\u2019s falling apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, why am I waxing motivational today? Because, if our current return of two points from a possible twelve doesn\u2019t sting enough, our record in Jos against tomorrow\u2019s opponents, Plateau United, might make you reach for a painkiller. The numbers are ugly as we\u2019ve managed just two draws in nine visits and a meagre two goals scored. To make matters worse, we\u2019ve always lost whenever we managed to score there. Stack that on top of our present form, and it feels like the odds have set up camp against us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But here\u2019s the thing about history, it bends. The recent Warri Wolves defeat (yes, that fresh wound) is a timely reminder. They had never beaten us in Aba until last weekend. So, if history can be rewritten against us, it can also be rewritten by us. We just have to get everything right: the energy in the dressing room, the tactics from the bench, the decisions from management, and as always, the unflinching roar of the fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hope alone isn\u2019t a game plan, but it\u2019s fuel. Add it to the hard work, the hunger, and the belief that we expect this Enyimba team to still have fire in its belly and suddenly, even the odds may start trembling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
