It\u2019s the midweek and yet again we\u2019re buzzing from back to back wins. There\u2019s a feel good atmosphere at the club at the moment and trust me, it can be felt even in the stands. Success has a host of relations while its opposite, failure, is an ostracized orphan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sunday, I felt more like that ordinary Enyimba fan. As I always do in recent times, I bought a ticket (that was about 90 minutes before the gates were thrown open) and I entered with it because I had no one who needed it at that time (if you meet me on my way into the stadium on a matchday, you might get a ticket from me). I had to sit at the hallowed supporters club stand. That\u2019s the most sacred stand in the Enyimba stadium. I\u2019ll talk more about this on Friday. Look out for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sitting in that stand brought back feelings from the mid 2000s when I started watching our darling club. It was an electric atmosphere but most importantly was the mood in the stands. I could feel that air of optimism and happiness that comes from nowhere else but our early successes this season. Everyone walked in all smiles and even forgetting how tough Bendel Insurance have been for us in recent times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even when we went behind in the early minutes, that optimism was still there, believing that we were going to win and maybe buoyed by presence of the governor, we had our best display this season. We conceded twice but the only downside of that match besides the slow reaction before Wisdom Udom\u2019s goal was Kalu Nweke\u2019s injury and we pray earnestly that he\u2019ll be fit in no time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With all of these good vibes, we need to sustain all of these. The wins, the better performances, the composure in the midfield, the tactical inputs from the bench and that passion to never stay down. One thing with having an imperious pedigree is that once it\u2019s yours, there\u2019s pressure on the other side and only confidence on your end. If we keep piling up these wins and good performances, maybe we\u2019ll win back our respect fully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And let\u2019s not forget, football is as much about moments as it is about momentum. These little wins, the laughter in the stands, the chants echoing long after the whistle\u2014all of them build a culture of belief. That belief is what carries us through the long away trips, the tricky refereeing calls, and the fatigue of a grueling season. If we can bottle up this spirit now and carry it along, there\u2019ll be no stopping us when the real tests come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is a call for everyone, the players, the coaches, the management and the fans to sustain these vibes. It\u2019s early days but if we can keep our foot on the gas, we\u2019ll find ourselves in familiar waters again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
