Confession time: I almost wrote \u201cTop of the table\u201d before realizing the contextual slip and correcting myself. But hey, maybe it wasn\u2019t such a slip after all\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Mondays are dreaded by almost every 9\u20135er. Shortened sleep, rushed breakfasts, traffic wahala, boss problems, you can go ahead and name it. A day that always feels like a problem. For us too, Mondays had a name: Monday Odigie. The man who seemed untouchable against Enyimba. Six meetings, no defeats. Two wins, four draws. Regardless of our form, league standing, or venue, he always found a way to deny us joy. Until yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bayelsa United, led by Odigie, came into the fixture with a reputation as they were one of the first teams to snatch all three points on the road this season. But this time, we flipped the script. At the Samson Siasia Sports Stadium in Yenagoa, we turned their medicine cabinet upside down, serving them a double dose of their own treatment: three points to us, and all goals scored by us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Now here we are, unbeaten after Matchday 4, and not a single goal conceded in 360 minutes of football. In a league where unpredictability is the only constant, our balance is refreshing. One win and one draw each, home and away, is solid by NPFL standards and gives us momentum to build on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Stand-in captain Kalu Nweke (we might just have the NPFL record for most stand-in captains this season!) marked his return with a commanding display capped by a goal, showing exactly how vital he can be to our team this season. And how about Chidera Michael? After taking heat on his home debut, he coolly turned the criticism into fuel, grabbing the opener and silencing doubters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It was one of those evenings when everything clicked. And the result? We\u2019re not just unbeaten, we\u2019re joint top of the NPFL table (ahead of Rivers United on goal difference, in case you missed that detail). The Elephant has climbed high, and this one looks determined to stay perched at the summit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Maybe, just maybe, this is the start of the campaign we\u2019ve been waiting for. And while some will remind you the season is a marathon, not a sprint, remember: marathons are best run when you start strong.
