Let\u2019s talk about one of our very few exceptional players last season as much as he didn\u2019t really stay with us much because of national team engagements as well as some injury concerns, I\u2019m talking about none other but the young lad whom we got on a free transfer from Niger Tornados- Clinton Jephta<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the moment he arrived at Enyimba, Jephta brought a real spark to our attack. At the start of the 2024\/2025 season, he was truly instrumental for us. His artistry, flair, and technical skills\u2014wow, they were on full display. The guy plays with so much confidence, and you could see he\u2019s a modern-day winger who can do it all: beat defenders, create chances, and score goals. Honestly, if I had to liken him to an Arsenal player, I would say he\u2019s a bit like Bukayo Saka\u2014full of energy, creative, and always looking to make something happen from the wide areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jephta\u2019s style of play, his skills, his creativity, his ability to carry the ball and make something out of nothing makes him an incredible player and an asset to any team. That energy, the confidence to take on defenders, and the vision to create chances out of seemingly thin air is worthy of commendation. When he was on form, he lifted us, gave us hope, and made us believe we could do something special this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But then, life threw us a curveball. His national team commitments and the injuries that followed really hit us hard. We missed him badly. Who wouldn\u2019t miss a player who plays as a left winger, Right winger and center forward? Who wouldn\u2019t miss a player who played 12 games for us in all competitions last season scoring 3 goals and grabbing 3 assists? Just tell me, who wouldn\u2019t?. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
His absence was like losing a piece of our soul in attack. The magic he brought, the unpredictability, the creativity we felt it all missing. I honestly believe if he had stayed fit and available, things would have been different. Maybe we wouldn\u2019t have finished trophyless, maybe we would have qualified for a continental competition. Maybe\u2026\u2026..just maybe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s heartbreaking to think about how much we relied on him and how much more we could have achieved with him in the team. Seeing him go through all that, battling injuries and being away on national duty, it\u2019s frustrating. But I know his talent is there, and next season, if he can stay healthy and focused, he\u2019s the kind of player who can change games single-handedly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jephta isn\u2019t just a player; he\u2019s a heartbeat for us the fans. His skills, his potential, his passion\u2014those are the things I believe will be vital for Enyimba in the upcoming season. We need him. I believe he\u2019ll bounce back stronger, and I hope he\u2019ll be the catalyst for our revival. We miss what he brings to the table, and I\u2019ll be rooting for him all the way. Because when Jephta\u2019s on form, Enyimba shines brighter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In conclusion, I would rate him a 6.5 out of 10 with more consistency and staying fit, he could be much higher for us. Wishing him all the best with the Nigerian U-20 team as they head to the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. We\u2019re all behind you, Jephta. Go and make us proud!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
