It\u2019s Tuesday, and the focus has already shifted to Lafia, where our President Federation Cup journey begins. It\u2019s a temporary detour, a Plan B to the continent, but with Plan A looking more realistic by the day, who says we can\u2019t have both?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sunday wasn\u2019t a disaster\u2014far from it. A 2-2 draw away to 3rd-placed Ikorodu City? Not bad at all. But it still felt like two points dropped rather than one gained, especially after all that hard work. But hey, this is the NPFL\u2014no VAR, no OB vans to save you, and certainly no guarantees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A few things stood out, though. Mujeeb Odufeso opened his goal account for us\u2014first of many, we hope\u2014and Joseph Atule made it three goals in three consecutive games. In fact, his goal could have been the match-winner, as was the first two. Things are beginning to click at just the right time. Maybe, just maybe, continental football is on the horizon after all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yesterday, we flew to Abuja ahead of tomorrow\u2019s clash against El Shama FC in Lafia, and if things go as expected, we\u2019ll be booking our place in the next round. Hopefully, this renewed deal with United Nigeria Airways brings better luck this time, unlike last time when our domestic form suffered every time we flew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This mini unbeaten run\u2014two wins and two draws\u2014is quietly building belief in the squad. There\u2019s even a sneaky feeling that we could just stumble our way into 3rd place, shocking everyone inside and outside the fold. Impossible is nothing when you wear the blue of Enyimba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
