League Returns: 3SC v Enyimba Match Preview

Greetings all and sundry.

There is only one place to start today’s post. The league is back, and we’re off to Ibadan for another date with Shooting Stars. I actually like how the mid-season break works. You resume against your most recent opponent, and just a few weeks after pummeling them in Aba, we meet again.

There has been plenty of transfer movement around the club, both exits and new arrivals, and in the days ahead we should get a clearer picture of what the squad truly looks like. I do miss the old days when the club formally announced signings on their official platforms. Those days feel long gone now. We haven’t even announced our new head coach.

And honestly, that’s not right. Whatever arrangement existed with Eguma should not hold a club of Enyimba’s stature hostage. The new gaffer deserves his moment in the sun. Clarity matters, and so does respect for the office.

Back to the football. We face Shooting Stars in Ibadan today, a fixture that has produced mixed outcomes over the years. The last time we were there, we “miracled” our way to a point during Coach Yema’s short reign, not long before his exit.

If we truly want to return to the continent, we need to start building proper away form. That means protecting our home ground and picking up points on alien turf. Do that consistently, and the target becomes realistic. This group of players, under the new technical direction, looks capable of it. The work starts today. 4pm.

A quick reminder from yesterday’s post. Our 50 percent discount promo for Solace’s book Elusive is now live. The book sells for ₦17,500, and we’re helping interested readers get it at half the price. Promo code: ELUSIVE50. One per customer. Limited slots available. If you’ve been meaning to get your copy, now is the time.

And finally, the big news.

We are launching the ThatEnyimbaFan Podcast. I promised something major this week, and here it is. The podcast will be a weekly space for proper football conversations, context, reflection, and everything in between. The name, first edition details, and launch information will be shared in the coming days.

That’s your lot for today, beautiful people.

Back tomorrow.
