Lessons from the Falcons, Questions for Enyimba

Good morning!

It’s a beautiful Sunday morning, and the mood across the footballing community is electric. I doubt there’s a single Enyimba Nigerian football fan who isn’t smiling after witnessing the incredible comeback by the Super Falcons last night. From two goals down against a Moroccan team backed by a home crowd and a World Cup winning coach in Jorge Vilda, to a thrilling win that secured their record extending tenth Women’s AFCON title, that’s what champions are made of.

The NFF called the campaign Mission X and despite all the pre-tournament turbulence, the Falcons completed it with courage and class. So here’s a quick question for us at Enyimba:

How e take concern us?

Look closely at our badge. Count the stars. You’ll find nine; each one a league title. You will think that is a template to launch a Mission X of our own. A bold, focused campaign toward that coveted tenth crown?

But let’s be real. It’s not about hashtags or catchphrases. A true Mission X must be intentional, from top to bottom. It requires structure. Commitment. Unity. And above all, quality.

Let’s be brutally honest. With the current state of things at our beloved club, do we even have the calibre of players to attempt anything beyond survival? Compare the players we’ve lost with those we’ve brought in; not just names, but pedigree and experience. Ask yourself: Are we equipped for greatness, or are we gearing up for more heartbreak?

One thing that stood out in the Falcons’ triumph was the clear, public backing from the federal government. Bonus approvals were announced even before the final whistle. That kind of support fuels belief. At Enyimba, can we commit to timely bonuses, proper motivation, and the basic dignity our players deserve?

And how about coaching? The Falcons trusted their gaffer to do his job. No noise from behind the dugout, no chaos from the boardroom. We all know what happens when the “VVIP Coaches” in Aba start pulling strings on matchdays. Maybe one day, one of them will step down and coach a few matches. We’ll be watching.

Let’s not forget the Falcons’ chemistry; the joy, unity, and trust. That spirit carried them. As we head into a new season, who becomes our captain? With Alalibo gone and Ani possibly on his way out, that armband becomes more than cloth. It becomes a mission. The next captain must foster unity and keep the team from splintering. Because a united team always gives more: first for themselves, then for the badge.

So again, I ask: Can Enyimba launch our own Mission X this season?
Do we have the structure, the leadership, the vision, and most importantly, the squad?

Chew on that thought after you consume your Sunday rice today.

Congratulations to our all conquering Super Falcons. 10 time champions. An inspiration to all of us.

Good reminder from Chinatu but it’s now a mountain to climb for us, before players wait & choose Enyimba before other clubs & not now..
I remember when our goalies completes the super Eagle squad: then it’s was a must from enyema, dele, Stanley, noble, theophlus just to mention but a few…
I strongly don’t believe in this management at all up till now, clubs has been unveiling their new signings but I can’t even mention one of our incoming player.. a whole me..
It’s that bad of a retrogression..
These management don’t care or know anything of those stars so I doubt mission X for Enyimba under this management..
But we are the people elephant, we will believe in the badge against all the conditions under it currently..
    👍🙏🏻
