End Of Season Report Card: Isah Mohammed

Good morning Enyimba Fans

Even though our flags fly at half-mast, heavy with the weight of sorrowful news that has struck us in the past 48 hours, I wish i was a bearer of happier news today, sadly I am not. Legendary striker Mfon Udoh was involved in a ghastly motor accident. We haven’t heard more but our prayers are with him and his family. I pray he is safe and in one piece.

As though that is not the last “grim news” I have for you, it does appear that the club has “agreed” with Stanley Eguma. In other words, baring any earth-shattering happenstance, Coach Eguma will lead the team. Again, I am not sure I want to lend my views at this time. We will talk about him and this development in the days ahead.

Back to our End of the season review on Enyimba players, today we will be looking at a young energetic player we got during the mid season transfer- Isah Mohammed. Isah Mohammed’s first season at Enyimba has been a mix of promise and potential. With 12 games under his belt and a debut goal away at Akwa United, he’s shown he can handle the pressure and step up when needed. He’s played both as a right winger and in central midfield, giving us tactical flexibility and helping calm things down in the middle.

What I really appreciate is Issa’s energy and strength—he’s always buzzing, pressing, and making himself available for the team. But it’s not just about physicality; his creativity is underrated. He can spot passes and create chances from different positions, even if he doesn’t have a ton of assists yet. His versatility is a massive asset. Being able to switch roles and adapt to different tactics gives the coach so many options, especially during a long and challenging season. If Issa decides to stay, his utility will be crucial for our squad depth and game plans.

Of course, there’s still room for improvement. One goal in 12 games isn’t enough for a midfielder, and he needs to sharpen his finishing and decision-making in the final third. But for a young player in his debut season, he’s made a solid impressions.

Overall, I’d rate Isah a 5.5/10 for his debut campaign. He brought energy, calmness, creativity, and options to our midfield. If he stays, I believe his versatility could make a big difference for Enyimba next season.

Back Tomorrow!
