Enyimba: How about some Question and Answers?

Greetings. Everyone.

We are at the stage of the battle where we can begin to make assessments. What can be won? How many men have we lost? How much artillery do we have left? How has the Generals and Commanders done? How do we minimize our losses and ready again for the next season? Who doesn’t deserve to remain here and who should go? Does the current climate show positive signs for the future?

No doubt. This season has been one of those awful seasons that you never want to remember again. Ever. The most pertinent question however is – how does Kanu and Ekwueme rate this season? Have they spotted mistakes they made and are they putting things in place to ensure the coming season is significantly better?

Fact is, the only reason we should endure this season is the hope that the coming season would be better. In reality though, would it? For starts we know we will lose a significant amount of players at the end of the season. Most of them decent and maybe a few castaways.

Can we convince our stars – some of whom have distinguished themselves this term that next season would be better? It is unlikely that we would be in the Continent – but do we really have substantial evidence that the mess of this season won’t get carried over into the next?

Few weeks ago, Brown Ideye sent out a cryptic text about a blind man taking you to the Promised Land. If he was talking about Enyimba, and that is a big if, you’d think he’s talking about Stanley Eguma. Little wonder that he has featured so scantily for Enyimba since he signed.

Speaking of Brown Ideye, i think he deserves a full day’s blogpost as we reevaluate his Enyimba career. No matter what you think of him, he clearly has done significantly better than his “compatriot” Junior Lokosa. Again, this is talk for another day.

If somehow we gatecrash it, in the next few games and maybe through the Fed Cup, we make it to the Continent, is there a plan to bring the Competition to the hallowed Aba Grounds? Or will the Aba faithful troupe en mass per matchday to Uyo to watch Enyimba? Time to earn your money chaps.

Speaking of the Federation Cup. We are in Abuja to face defending champions El-Kanemi Warriors. It is on a neutral ground and you’d be banking on us to come out tops. Remember, however that football is not played on paper. You have to earn their right to win the game.

That game takes place tomorrow, 2nd of April. Hopefully it’s good news for us.

Thats all I got to share today. Kanu and Ekwueme have been a disaster – but you knew that already.

Back tomorrow.
