Midweek Blues: Wisdom is Profitable to Direct

Good Morning!

Midweek blues? Not quite. The Super Eagles’ quest to reach the biggest World Cup ever—hosted across the most countries in history—hit a major roadblock yesterday. But, as always, we stand with them. Support never wavers.

And speaking of things returning, the NPFL is back in action today but we’ll play tomorrow.

Now, let me tell you a little story.

Once upon a time, there was a businessman named Emeka. He was deeply involved in deals where middlemen played key roles, negotiating between two parties. In these types of deals, the smarter side always made the most profit. But sometimes, the party that treated the middleman better—and/or had a superior strategy—came out on top.

One day, Emeka had a business deal with Segun. To tilt things in his favor, he spoiled the middleman with luxury treatment. But there was a problem—Emeka’s strategy was weak, and despite the VIP treatment, the middleman couldn’t help him secure the gains he had expected. Furious, Emeka demanded and eventually received a refund for everything he had spent on the middleman.

Fast forward, Emeka found himself in a similar situation, this time with Barikuma. Once again, things didn’t go his way. And once again, he went after the middleman, even tracking him down at his place of rest until every kobo was repaid.

Now, Emeka has another deal lined up, this time with Remilekun. But guess what? The same middleman from the deal with Segun is involved again. Here’s the big question: Does Emeka even stand a chance of getting what is due to him?

Do you really think these middlemen, after seeing how their colleagues were treated, won’t join forces to teach Emeka a lesson? Do you think Emeka can even win this unspoken game?

Life isn’t just about being smart. It’s about playing the long game and understanding that, sometimes, unseen forces influence our outcomes. Nothing comes easy. Nothing is given freely. If you want something, you have to be prepared, strategic, and proactive—because no one hands you success on a silver platter.

Back tomorrow.
