Five star Enyimba gets Federation Cup to a thrilling start

Good morning Guys!

Ideally at this time, we should be rolling out a Match preview for our Federations Cup game. What we have instead is a Match Report of how your beloved Enyimba pummeled ElShama FC, 5-0. I mean who plays a Fed Cup game before noon?

Goals from new sensation Quadri, Nnachi and a double from Ekene Awazie set us to a comfortable 4-0 lead before Nnachi got his second and our 5th to complete the rout; landing us smoothly onto the next level of the competition.

I was getting ready to preach to the team on the importance of this competition and indeed the significance of this stage of the season but the boys already got the memo and truly that is such a good place to be.

Considering the quality of opposition, it is easy to wave off this result but We have seen Enyimba teams struggle with relatively weaker opposition. We don’t need to look too far behind to recall how we lost the Abia State Fed Cup finals. Good to see that the boys were on song from the first whistle. An attitude that this stage of the season requires.

This stretches our unbeaten run in all competitions to five and with the games right on the horizon, that’s exactly where you want to be. Morale boosting as well for the attack that has blown hot and cold this season. We could use some of that attacking joy this weekend against Bayelsa before we head to Ikene to play Remo Stars.

Finally for today, have you been listening to the Elephant Podcast? If no, why not? Give it a listen and give the account a follow on X. The most recent edition has me on it, rambling about Enyimba. You should get your ears to it.

Back tomorrow.
