Top of the morning, Enyimba faithful!

Now, before I get into the football, let me tell you about my recent “vacation.” Yes, you heard me right, I was on holiday in Greece, Santorini to be precise. Sun, sea, and the kind of dry harmattan that makes you feel like you’re back in Aba with Christmas just around the corner. My colleague, bless his soul, has been singing Christmas carols since November 30th, and I had to remind him that we weren’t even in December yet. Christmas in the air, sure, but it’s still a little premature, buddy!

Speaking of Christmas, how about we gift ourselves an early one tomorrow? And by gift, I mean a well-deserved victory against Enugu Rangers. I mean, seriously, is there a better way to celebrate the holiday season than with a sweet win over our cross-state rivals? Rangers may be coming from the northern gateway of the South East, but we all know the true action is right here in the southern gateway—and we’re ready to show them that tomorrow.

Between the two of us, there are 17 league titles, with us holding the edge in both the domestic and continental arenas. Rangers might have the age and tradition, but we’ve got the titles, the swagger, and the presence that makes every club tremble. As our very own Odinakachi Uzoho, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, would say, “If e easy, run am!”

Let’s not forget last season’s showdown. It started as the best match of the season and ended as the worst. They had the crowd, they had the refurbished stadium, but they couldn’t handle our footballing flair. We were the better team by far, and everyone saw it, even if they tried to claim otherwise. This time, we’ve got even more to flaunt—better hospitality, better turf, more free-flowing football, and an identity that has the whole continent taking notes. Oh, and let’s not forget that little thing called continental football—yes, we’re still riding high on that.

Tomorrow’s not just about putting Rangers in their place, though. This match kicks off a massive week for us. After we dust off the “flying antelopes” (as if they can actually fly), we head to Uyo to take on Africa’s defending champions, Zamalek. What better way to get our mojo back than by knocking down two defending champions in one week? Rangers today, Zamalek on Sunday—two wounded champions in just a few days. Not a bad week’s work, eh?

So, let’s get ready to show Rangers exactly why we’re the team they can only dream of being. As always, the official preview is just around the corner, but tomorrow, we need to focus on the task at hand: bring out the big guns, play like Elephants, and stamp our authority all over Enugu.

It’s game time, people. Never say die, no be for onye azogburu!

Nzogbu Nzogbu!
