Good morning!
It’s Tuesday, and the focus has already shifted to Lafia, where our President Federation Cup journey begins. It’s a temporary detour, a Plan B to the continent, but with Plan A looking more realistic by the day, who says we can’t have both?
Sunday wasn’t a disaster—far from it. A 2-2 draw away to 3rd-placed Ikorodu City? Not bad at all. But it still felt like two points dropped rather than one gained, especially after all that hard work. But hey, this is the NPFL—no VAR, no OB vans to save you, and certainly no guarantees.
A few things stood out, though. Mujeeb Odufeso opened his goal account for us—first of many, we hope—and Joseph Atule made it three goals in three consecutive games. In fact, his goal could have been the match-winner, as was the first two. Things are beginning to click at just the right time. Maybe, just maybe, continental football is on the horizon after all.
Yesterday, we flew to Abuja ahead of tomorrow’s clash against El Shama FC in Lafia, and if things go as expected, we’ll be booking our place in the next round. Hopefully, this renewed deal with United Nigeria Airways brings better luck this time, unlike last time when our domestic form suffered every time we flew.
This mini unbeaten run—two wins and two draws—is quietly building belief in the squad. There’s even a sneaky feeling that we could just stumble our way into 3rd place, shocking everyone inside and outside the fold. Impossible is nothing when you wear the blue of Enyimba.
Our pedigree demands that every player who puts on this badge defends it with pride. These are the moments that define careers, the games that etch names into the annals of history.
Yes! We can!
