Happy Sunday, folks!
It’s the last Sunday before Christmas, and Aba is basking in the chilly embrace of harmattan—right on cue for the festivities. Speaking of arrivals, our team has finally returned from their extended “vacation” in Mozambique. Yes, everyone made it back safely, but not without leaving a trail of frustration and missed opportunities in their wake.
So, where are we now? Two NPFL matches skipped, one hastily but grudgingly rescheduled for Boxing Day. A post-Christmas “gift” from our darling Enyimba? Or is Santa sneaking in more limes to sour our festive spirits? Let’s just say, we’re due for some good news after weeks of disappointments and an empty win column stretching all the way back to November.
During the chaos and frantic “ticket scrambles” in Mozambique, one can only hope the team found a moment for reflection—a crisis meeting perhaps? Surely, by now, every player, staff and management member knows it’s time to fix this freefall. The wheels have come off at every level, and if there’s one thing we need more than harmattan, it’s a sense of urgency.
The NPFL might take a holiday break after Matchday 19, but don’t expect that luxury for Enyimba. With our backlog of matches and the looming return of the CAF Confederations Cup very early next year, it’s full steam ahead. Can we salvage our Continental Campaign? It’s football—anything can happen. But first, the Phoenix must rise, starting with some serious introspection and decisive action.
The blueprint is clear: intentionality, honest diagnosis of our problems, and a laser focus on excellence. This isn’t about blame or excuses anymore; it’s about putting Enyimba first, ahead of egos, politics, and all distractions.
It’s time to hit the reset button. Let’s restore the pride and glory that comes with being Aba’s pride and West Africa’s powerhouse.
Shout out to Ani Ozoemena and Imo Obot with the CHAN Eagles. Hopefully, you’ll get some jellof derby victory today.
Back tomorrow.
