Good morning, my dear Enyimba faithful!

It’s been a while since I last wrote here, and the break was long enough for someone to jokingly ask if I’d packed my bags for another vacation—Seychelles this time. Let me assure you, no sunny beaches for me yet; I’ve been right here, watching and feeling every kick, pass, and goal from our boys. And what a rollercoaster it has been!

Sunday’s game against Zamalek was a masterclass in football emotions. Disappointment morphed into despair, then to hope, and finally settled at normal. Not joy, just normal. Why? Because we are Enyimba, the two-time African champions, and this badge demands wins, even against heavyweights like Zamalek. Let’s not downplay the team’s efforts—it was a spirited performance—but there’s a lesson here: belief. We need our boys to believe they are giants too, so they start games with the confidence of champions, not the jitters we’ve seen in our last two outings against Egyptian opposition.

But we digress. The Uyo adventure left us with back-to-back draws against two defending champions, Enugu Rangers and Zamalek. Not ideal, but not disastrous either. For those of us who see the glass half full, this unbeaten streak is something to build on. Dominance in play isn’t yielding wins just yet, but I’m convinced this can flip. When you’re drawing games or narrowly losing, you’re just a tweak away from victory.

Let’s talk goals, though. Sunday gave us two against Zamalek, but I’m not convinced our scoring woes are behind us. Instead, what I saw was desperation morphing into creativity. Our boys started taking shots from range, and guess what? It worked! We’ve got players who can strike from distance—so why not let them? If the intricate tap-ins aren’t working, unleash those long-range screamers. Brilliance and audacity win games, and sometimes all it takes is one moment of magic.

Tomorrow, Sunshine Stars come calling. Their recent loss to Shooting Stars means they’ll arrive in Aba looking to redeem themselves. But let’s be honest—no amount of blazing guns can fell an elephant, especially not toy guns. We need to stamp our authority early and get the job done. A win tomorrow sets the tone for the real test in Mozambique against Black Bulls.

Sunday’s trip to Mozambique is shaping up to be all or nothing, but before that, let’s focus on Sunshine. Let’s get the crowd roaring, the boys firing, and the Elephants charging.

Tomorrow is about laying the groundwork for bigger victories to come.
