Enyimba keeps climbing in Africa

Good morning.

My exams are over and it feels good to be free. Life is good. I know if sounds like I’m a bad student who’s scared of academic work. I’m not a bad student, it’s just that it’s been a very long and tough semester and I’m grateful to see the back of it. Onto Enyimba affairs now.

Enyimba International Football Club have been placed at the fifth position of the club-football rankings in the continent with 27 points, according to Africans Got Football.

The People’s Elephant performed well at the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup before being bundled by eventual winners Raja Casablanca in the semifinal of the competition.

They came up strong against Cara Brazzaville, Williamsville, Djoliba and AS Rayon Sports in the Confederation Cup.

The Aba-based club are raising the Nigerian flag high in terms of overall success in the continent, being placed fifth.

Egyptian giants, Al Ahly are at the summit with 67 points.

Here are the top 10 rankings in Africa:

1. Al Ahly – 67 points

2. TP Mazembe – 51 points

3. Etoile du Sahel – 48 points

4. Esperance – 43 points

5. Enyimba – 27 points

6. CS Xfaxien – 25 points

7. Wydad Casablanca – 24 points

8. El Zamalek – 23 points

9. Al Hilal – 21.5 points

10. Coton Sport – 19 points

These rankings are based on findings done by African Got Football.

Thank you. We love us some piece of good news here on the blog, no matter how small and this a welcome breather. It’s also important to point out that the clubs around us on these rankings are a measure of how professional we ought to be. I mean, these folks are our “mates” to some degree.

OK, I’ll walk away from the temptation of any sad rant this morning. Let’s enjoy this victory. And ermm lest I forget, it appears the 14 games in six days won’t be happening anytime soon. Thank God for Miracles.
