Good morning Guys.
So last Sunday I claimed no one reads my match previews and the response I got from twitter told me how wrong I was. So yea I dropped the ball last Sunday, I’m trying not to make the mistake again. So here is your match preview for our Aiteo Cup clash with Dynamite Force FC.
We face a lower division side today, just hours after we returned from our CAF Confederation Cup fixture. Dynamite Force of Edo State come into this one hopeful of being the giant killers of this round. Interestingly, I haven’t seen any giant-killing feat in this round of matches. Or did I let one result slip past me?
Burdening ourselves with the task of winning this fixture as the only means to get back in the Continent (if we don’t win this year’s CAF Confederation Cup) is some pressure. Pressure that I wonder if we need at this time. I did come across some interview by winger Stanley Dimgba who I think is odds on to start tomorrow.
“This is our work and we must do it. It’s the latest. In Nigerian League we play Wednesday weekend. Always. We play Wednesday weekend. So this is a situation we found ourselves. It’s like Wednesday weekend. If we play tomorrow we are going to play our match again on Sunday. We have been in this situation it’s not going to be an easy task. If I know that if we put our best, we are going to win”
“Let me just say, this FA Cup, there is no small team. We have been playing this FA Cup for a long time. So these small teams, they do make sure that they remove all these big teams that are in the premier league. So any big team that is playing them now needs to work hard to make sure they beat them. So we are going to play Dynamite and I know that Dynamite is a good team no matter they are in the lower division. But I know they are a good team. We are going to make sure we beat them. Definitely”.
“Because this Aiteo Cup is the Cup that is going to take us to Confederations Cup unless maybe we win this Cup. But If we do not win this Cup then we will make sure that we will this FA Cup to make sure that we will be in the Continent next year”.
“So every Cup is important to Enyimba and I believe that no Cup is too small for them. They make sure, that’s why they are a big team. They make sure they win any Cup they see. I know this FA Cup is a very very serious Cup and we are going to put everything possible to make sure that we win”.
Dimgba did reveal quite a lot in that interview. By way of lineups, I’d expect rest some of our more important players especially with Sunday in view. You can expect Ezenwa to start in goal and the likes of Nelson Ogbonnaya should equally start. But we would see what the gaffer is thinking when the lineups are out.
Updates? Yes if we have them. Check our twitter account for updates. All the best to the lads this evening.
Back tomorrow. Hopefully with good news.
