Enyimba vs Sunshine Stars: Potential banana skin but a very winnable tie

Good morning everyone
19th placed Sunshine Stars (who ever chose to combine those two words) are in the midst of problems, mostly off field until recently when they lost 5-0 in Jos and failed to win in Akure the next matchday.

They’ve been docked three points for officially being the League’s bad boys owing to serial offenses at their place, barred to register half of their new players and been protested against by old players who were still being owed for over 24 months post contractual due date. Give me a reason to like this football team, anyone?

Prior to all these, they’ve been a very stubborn side away from home. I remember that Olorunleke masterpiece, refereeing inconsistency and Ifeanyi Onuigbo connived to earn them a draw in Port Harcourt when we played there two seasons ago. This season they have of course picked up points in Owerri and Umuahia this season before the dark clouds started gathering for them.

Enough of the visitors, Aigbogun 2.0 has lost dropped 2 points at home, but we need to start scoring and scoring plenty. The only person that has scored more goals for us this season than OG is Stanley Dimgba. This is appalling if were to go farther than before in the continent. Maybe Ibrahim Mustapha back from CHAN might just be the answer. I do like him- Mustapha, that is, primarily because he is one striker I know can play well with every and anyone.

With the gaffer’s attention divided between club and country, his assistant, Abd’allah might continue to make more inputs and hopefully we’ll get a better result than his last outing in Kano. I feel Freedom might step in for Oladapo yet again as this will be more attacking. Ikouwem should just play once more before he resumes camp with his second national assignment ( happy for you, bro). Wasiu should also be allowed to give us another display before he goes to the Flying Eagles’ camp too. We do have a post on the Flying Eagles early next week.

I think we should win this especially as it earns us the top spot for as long as the duo of Akwa and Plateau are resting and with the top spot comes the desire and belief to stay atop which typical of Enyimba. Captain Mfon Udoh and Ikechukwu Pirlo Mosky Ibenegbu are on their way back to fitness. What a combination of experience that will grace us soon.

Let’s get the three points today guys.

Back tomorrow,
