Good morning everyone!
This is one of the best times to be an Enyimba fan. We may not be on top of the league table yet but can you remember the last time we lost? I’ll help you, Katsina away and here on the blog, we responded with a walk up call.
Unbeaten in 6 matches is quite impressive for any NPFL side especially if you had to travel to Port Harcourt, Maiduguri and Kano in the time. It seems we are learning not to lose games away from home which is actually a good thing. From 20th to within shouting distance to the leaders in 5 games is a big improvement.
Yesterday in Kano, the gaffer selected a side strong enough for the game’s pedigree. Ojo came in for Uche John (remember that Ojo first played right back here in Kano on that day we got a rare victory and did really well) and Oladapo brought more defensive stability to the midfield with the more attacking Omofoman rested. Everyone else from the Plateau game kept their place.
Anaemena and Nelson let Lokosa slip through their fingers and the hosts were ahead just after the half hour mark but 3 minutes later, we were gifted a goal when a tame back pass turned dangerously slippery and we were back into the game.
Our capeless heroes became activated and it was a real fight not to leave empty handed. Nzube, a member of our Kano branch, was a real torment. His quality came to the fore just like a light which cannot be hidden but we had the lion in Dauda making sure all that quality didn’t change the scoreline. We managed to recruit the upright for some seconds and it stopped Dennis from restoring the lead.
We would’ve been happier if Dimgba had hit the target or found a teammate but 1 point in Kano tastes fantastic! We fight on! Sunshine Stars are next. They love away draws but we don’t give opponents what they like, they’ll settle for what we want.
We will fight on and hopefully get back to the glory days! Yes a title is possible.
