Kastina vs Enyimba: Seeking help and redemption

Didn’t the league only start seven days ago yet we are staring at Match Day 3 already.  We are away at Katsina, after back to back draws and we hope we can find our first win of the season. The Draw at Lobi felt good, but  one on Wednesday didn’t. But then again, didn’t they say a day begins a story

Katsina United will be our hosts this matchday as we will tackle them at the Mohammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina by 4pm Nigeria time. If only there are ways we could beam this match to the world, there will definitely be viewers but such are tall dreams in these climes. United are in only their successive season in the top flight after only gaining promoted from the lower rungs last season. They, like us, are also searching for their first win of the 2017/2018 season but unlike us, have tasted defeat.

You’d think that this is an easy game because we have better quality on paper. But recent trips to Katsina (on this occasion we played El-Kanemi Warriors there) haven’t been fruitful for us a couple of seasons now. We even did have a first ten minute nightmare one time and the game was over before it even got started. So this time around we will need a dodged and spirited display to stand a chance of leaving Katsina with even a point. It is very possible, bearing in mind that Kano Pillars almost ran away with a victory even with a man less.

It’s still difficult to anticipate what happens by way of playing personnel for us. Would Aigbogun 2.0 make wholesome alterations or would he start the same folks who have been playing the past two match days. I personally would love a change of formation. Playing two strikers could mean ceding the midfield but I think a Franco-Udeagha-Farouk/Dare would give us more numbers and it’s likely security in the middle of the park.

In goal, Dauda should continue in goal and wasn’t it last time out that he was accused of knocking a ball boy unconscious? And their media team pulled out a picture of the lad with a cylinder standing beside him. One of the most shameful things I ever saw a media team do. Horrible and utterly disgusting.

Let’s hope there’s nothing that silly today. If we remain unbeaten after this fixture, I’ll give Aigbogun 2.0 a pleasant surprise. Enjoy the game from wherever you’re “watching” from.

Back tomorrow with good news I hope.
