I decided to title this post by this young man whose 75th minute strike turned the title challenge by its head. Sokari Kingsley! A Sokari Kingsley is akin to the God of the 11th hour. When they say all hope is lost, when they say, it is not possible, hehe…a Sokari Kingsley shows up and BANG..there’s a miracle. Oh Sokari Kingsley. Sokari Kingsley, They may think they got it all figured out but hey, watch out, theres a Sokari Kingsley lurking behind.
As the final whistle sounded in Kaduna on Sunday, the noise could be heard over the refuse dumps in the Enyimba City all the way to Kano. What a time to get our first away victory for the season and how important it is. We are truly in the hot end of the much troubled league campaign and we cannot but finish on a high. We are two points off the drift and we have four games remaining.
We entertain ElKanemi on Wednesday before heading to already relegated Nembe City, then we visit Sharks and then a final day cracker against Pillars in Aba. I look at the remaining fixtures and I think they are winnable. Nembe has nothing to play for and they don’t even need the points anymore so why shouldn’t we get all there? Then we play Dolphins in Port Harcourt, more like a dress rehearsal to the big big one next month as we look to hold onto our Federations Cup trophy. We should have enough quality to beat them at the Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt. Then we end with Pillars in Aba. A game that if we cannot find the resources to win then we don’t deserve to win at all.
A fascinating end to the season I tell you. Before that though, there is the small matter of Elkanemi in Aba on Wednesday. I’ve seen them play severally and I can tell you that they are a very good side. The Boko Haram issues in Borno State means they had to play their games in Kano. Well, you will say it’s the same thing but can you imagine Enyimba playing our home games in Abakiliki? It’s never the same as in Aba. Take a look at Bayelsa United and see what effects of playing away from home. The Warriors are good but they are not good enough to prevent all three points for us on the game. So what? Ill stick to the same principles. Get into our Rhythm early. Take chances and don’t let their defensive prowess get us discouraged.
They have good fighters in Reuben Ogbonnaya who is their captain and their goalkeeper who got a Super Eagles call recently, David Obiazor. We should win this, especially if we are serious about nicking Pillars to the League Title. Let’s finish up what we started Gentlemen.
I’m planning some things for the site during the end of the season. Just watch this space…ermmmm have a Sokari Kingsley Wednesday guys.
