A point to settle for

I had no doubt that we will beat Warriors today but when I spoke with a few of the players, it turned out I was the only one that confident but then wow what a game!

Warriors were really out to ensure they got something from the game but credit to the boys, we never gave up. Very few teams come to Umuahia, fall back behind and still battle back. We fell back twice, twice we came back and then took the lead. Mfon smashed one against the crossbar at 3-2. Had that gone in, it would have been game over but then kudos to Warriors, they deserved something from the game.

I was worried when I saw their lineup; there was no Onyeudo but Peter Onyekachi (who is on some goal drought now), Chikatara and Onyeali. I knew that the pace and trickery of the latter duo especially Onyeali will be issues.

Uwadiegwu is just unplayable nowadays- lovely strike with his right ‘other’ leg. Great to see Rasheed make amends for his penalty. Mfon who can’t stop scoring could have gotten a hattrick today but it just wasn’t meant to be.

Pillars lost to Warri Wolves, oh if only we won but then its down to 3 points now.

Next week its FC Taraba while Pillars will face Abia Warriors. Let’s pray these Warriors get a draw there.
