Ahead of Sunday’s game the skipper warned their State rivals and FA Cup semi final opponents Abia Warriors of Umuahia that they have revenge on their minds and they are prepared to serve them their own medicine.
“They beat us at home and we are going there to prove to everybody that what happened here was a mistake. They are not better than us and we have to pay them back for what they did to us. They made us start struggling on the pitch and we are going there to pay them in their own coin”.
For Madu and His partner Udorji the streak is on again and last season’s spirit is back. “We started badly this season and have conceded 2 goals at home. That is unacceptable in a club like Enyimba but we are playing better now. We have rekindled the spirit of last season. What matters is keeping that record now and it will only come by working hard”.
He doesn’t get much in the spot light as his Center Back partner Udorji but Chibuzor Madu is a darling to the Aba fans. When asked what makes their partnership tick, the defender disclosed that rather than staying up late at night studying the opposition strikers, they focus on their own performance.
“In football, just like in real life, what puts you through is your determination and working hard for each other. We prepare well by being 100 % focused and committed throughout the game. We don’t have to stay up at night wondering how this striker plays but we believe in playing your own game and be prepared for whatever you might come across in the course of the game”.
